I love this Shinjini! All of these pieces spoke to me, but I have to say as a bibliophile, I would have a hard time cutting up book pages. Magazines are fine but not book pages!
That’s very understandable, Pamela! I was initially horrified at the idea of cutting up book pages too, until an altered book artist compared it to giving new life to a book that was destined to go to the recycle bin. That made me a little more comfortable with tearing up old books that I was going to throw away.
Your use of found word poetry and quotes from books and magazines adds depth and meaning to your beautiful art journal pages. I love how you seamlessly blend different elements like powdered paints, stenciling, collage papers, and washi tape to create captivating spreads. Your piece inspired by the Outlander series is particularly enchanting. Thank you for sharing your talent and process with us—it's a delight to see your art come to life!

I did envision that scenario. Maybe rescuing some books from a thrift store would work. 🤔
Yes! That’s an excellent option!
such magic!
Isn’t it?
I love them all. It would be hard to pick a favorite. I love hearing about your process.
Thank you! And I’m glad you enjoyed this post!
