I’ve been doing a lot of writing lately, both my novel and creative nonfiction, but I want to start making time for working with my hands. I’ve done collages before and am thinking it’s time to start again.

Yes to making things by hand! Collages offer a ton of creative potential. You could perhaps even combine collage with the themes from your creative non-fiction writing.

I’m a silversmith so can relate. I love to follow ideas through and see where they take me! ✨

"The initial spark may have come from there. Maybe even a technique or two. But the rest of it, that will be your process." True! Idea sparks from different sources and then it becomes our responsibility to follow through and find what's in store.

Love the outcome here, Shinjini.

Yeah, taking that spark and putting our own spin on it is what creativity is all about! Thank you, Vinitha!

There's so much that we write off as wasting time, when in fact it is time spent noodling around that helps us arrive at something creative.

Yes!! I think so much of that is also cultural/societal — we give so much value to productivity that we look at noodling around as a waste of time.

curiosity and flitting from one thing to the next is quintessential Gemini - so I am happy to say, I am 'approved' for such behavior! and yes, I too love these rabbit holes, sometimes I follow through, e.g.: book binding, and with others I just spend a leisurely afternoon exploring and that's it. Both bring me joy, and as I am letting go of this incessant need to be 'productive' about everything, I am finding more ease with my days.
