Your collage is beautiful 💜 as is your writing.

This reminds me of a time in my life following the big decision to get divorced. Living on my own again, I took the big canvas that had previously been the mount for photos and keepsakes of my marriage, painted it blank, and then began to write and paint the words that described what I wanted from this next phase of my life.

As soon as work was done for the day and the night stretched out in front of me, I set to my task of writing and painting and decorating my canvas. It kept my worrying monkey mind occupied, and I truly believe it reinforced the messages in the words.

The biggest word on the canvas was "serenity". That's what I most wanted.

When I met my true love some time later, his house was named Serenity.

Hm. 😊

That is so amazing, Andrea! You painted your reality. How powerful is that? Art and creativity can help us not just get through some of the roughest patches in our lives, but also pave the way for wonder and synchronicity.

For the simple act of hands busy/mind quiet, I love filling a page with lines and circle.

My mind can also get pretty quiet while paintingbut not quiet enough

I know what you mean, Cynthia. When my mind is particularly loud, painting doesn’t always help. Iif I remember correctly, you’ve also started sketching your day? I imagine that would help to quieten the mind, too.

I have started sketching my week. It's not a daily practice. I'm usually catching up on the weekends from notes from my planner and calendar to help me remember what I did during the week. But then their sr weeks like this week and I am simply filling the pag with design. Two page spread id meditation.

I love your topic and how you developed it 🩶Creating art shows you that you can start with an idea and achieve a result following a process of constant decision making as you go that guides you towards the final goal… it’s just that arts & crafts are so a entertaining that we don’t realize our brain is making countless tiny decisions along the way to get to the result we want…but when you think about it that’s what real life is…

I love drafting design plans by hand, graphic design and painting to de-stress but also to feel the thrill of accomplishment…

Through a big life change, art-making is the best companion…
